A pleasant get away

The tour was ok but not fantastic. The best part was our driver, Victor, who had a great and talkative personality. On the way to Zakopane, we made a short stop at Chocolow, noted for its wooden houses, but really, there is not much there. We went into a small house depicting how life was in the past. A woman talked to us about everything that was there, then at the end, asked for 6 zloty per person. She should have told us this up front. Our next stop was Zakopane, which was extremely crowded with people. We stopped at the first restaurant we saw to get out of the frigid cold. Wait staff there was surly and unaccommodating, and we were pressed for time to get back to Victor. The last stop was the Bukovina Spa, not the one in Chocolow which we had thought was where we were going. Bukovina was bigger and better, Victor said. It was more like a water park, not like the thermal spas in Budapest or other countries. Lots of families and children. Confusing locker rooms. NO towels available to rent, so bring your own or you will end up purchasing a towel in the gift shop for 12 USD, like we did. It was kind of a madhouse. Water was not all that hot, more like lukewarm. All in all, it was a pleasant enough day, but nothing I would recommend or would do again.

Thank you for your comprehensive opinion. We understand the disappointment with the wooden village in Chocholow, but this is an individual matter, everyone likes something different. However, this is undoubtedly a unique part of Poland. We understand your dissatisfaction with the crowds that prevailed in Zakopane. We have no influence on it at all, this is a very popular direction, especially in December. You have to be aware of the fact that there may be far more people than usual. We also understand that you have not read the description of the trip carefully, but we mention to take your own swimsuit and towel. Nevertheless, thank you very much for your opinion, your words are very important to us. We will do our best to improve our trip. Wish you all the best!
