Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum Guided Tour with pick-up from Selected Krakow Hotels

My tour experience was overall a disappointment. I scheduled a tour of the Auschwitz Birkenau camps for a 10am pickup because I wanted to be there early and see everything during the day, and really get to explore a bit outside of the tour since I had paid for a private driver and would have a little leeway with my time. At the very last minute I got a notification saying my new pickup time was 13:00, three hours later. No one in customer service seemed to be able to confirm or deny the change so I was kinda just held hostage in my hotel for three hours to see which of the pickup times was actually the correct one. That combined with a 1+ Hour commute to the camps and waiting for the rest of the group to arrive I wasn’t actually walking into the facilities until well after 3pm, by which time Poland is close to sunset. By the time we even got to Birkenau it was nearly dusk, and wasn’t really able to walk around on my own at all since things were clearing out and honestly who really wants to walk around Auschwitz alone in the dark at night? For what I paid I had definitely expected to have a better experience. So even though that was disappointing I do want to mention though that my driver Derek was very friendly, gregarious, and did his best to make my commute quick and comfortable. He was also knowledgeable about various points of interest on the drive that made the ride more interesting. Our tour guide (I forget his name) was also very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job. I just don’t understand how scheduling a morning tour turned into that.

One word: Awesome experience and awesome guide, definitely worth the price, and quite a lasting experience!

Enthusiastic tour guide and phenomenal experience. Only suggestion is longer breaks, had no lunch break all day and it’s a lot of walking.

This is our second visit to the camps, the first ten years ago we walked around ourselves. We are here this time with our 17 year old daughter. We chose this time to have a tour guide. Aga, our guide was very passionate in her deliverance, top draw. I would certainly recommend anyone t take a guide

Transport on time and the tour of both camps was fantastic. The guide was brilliant and I learnt so much. A must see visit would highly recommended

We had a very good guide, told us all the history and info you could ask for. Very knowledgeable. Its not an easy place to visit for obvious reasons. I nearly didn't go as knew I would be upset but feel that we all should see and remember so it never happens again. Pick up and drop off was very efficient. I get a bit travel sick so tour guide made sure I got a seat up front. You don't get long to eat so take food with you as although there are cafes and refreshments available which did seem a bit weird there isn't time to stop and sit and eat so I put a roll in my bag as it is a long day. The tours move quite fast as so many people visit, this does take away from the experience a little bit but don't let it put you off.

As somber and horrific as this place is, is was a very good tour with a knowledgeable guide. My only complaint was it seemed a bit rushed and we skipped a few buildings. I would've like a little more time to see all the buildings and have enough time to fully take in each part

I've wanted to visit Austwitz for many years now and recently booked a trip to Krakow to do just that. I booked through viator and the local company were seekrakow. The tour was very organised and well thought out. The information was hard to hear at times however it is necessary to understand the atrocities that took place here. It is an experience that will stay with me forever and I feel everyone should experience it in their life. The world should never forget what happened to all those innocent people and I feel these tours help to ensure that we don't.
